Post Processing for Additive Manufacturing

Post Processing

In addition to Additive Manufacturing systems (3D printers), we also provide the second step of the printing process. Post-processing is an important part of the process alongside production itself. We offer post-processing systems for a variety of technologies and applications, from cleaning and drying to curing and support removal for Additive Manufacturing technologies such as FDM/FFF, resin (SLA/DLP), PolyJet, and wax. These systems are suitable for a range of industries, including dental, audiology, jewelry, and industrial applications, where precision is of utmost importance.

Cleaning and washing systems

DEMI 430

The DEMI 430 is an automated solution removing support material, excess resin and wax from 3D-printed parts. For a consistent, hands-free cleaning workflow.

Large-format DLP/SLA resin cleaning

Demi X 5000

De PostProcess DEMI X 5000 is the next generation of large-format resin cleaning systems. With the press of a button, it cleans large builds in 10 minutes or less, using non-flammable chemistry and reducing waste costs by up to 75% compared to IPA.

The three steps of resin post-processing

Post-Processing of resin parts consists of three essential steps: cleaning, support removal and post-curing. Until these steps have been completed carefully, a print is not a functional end product. Our system cover the entire process, ensuring that no quality is lost between the printer and the finished product. In a production environment, a consistent, controlled post-processing routine is not an additional step, but an integral part of the workflow.

Cleaning without residue

After printing, uncured resin remains on the part. If it is not removed, it can result in sticky areas, surface imperfections, and dimensional deviations. These cleaning systems remove this residue using an alcohol-free alternative in an adjustable, repeatable cycle. A clean, dry print is the foundation of proper post-curing.

Post-Curing for Maximum Material Properties

Photopolymers are not yet fully cured after printing. The printing process only provides enough strength to hold the part together. Only controlled post-curing at the correct wavelength and temperature brings the material to its final strength, hardness, and dimensional stability. Our post-curing systems ensure uniform curing throughout the entire part, which is essential for the reliability of medical and industrial applications.

Wavelength Selection: 385 nm and 405 nm

As with our 3D printers, the light source is an essential consideration. Systems are available with either a 385 nm UV or a 405 nm wavelength, depending on the application and materials used. By matching the printer and curing unit to the same wavelength, you ensure consistent curing and a predictable end result.

Repeatable Results in Production

Reproducibility is the key to series production. Adjustable programs for washing time, temperature, and exposure duration ensure that every batch is post-processed identically. This allows you to deliver the same quality day after day, whether processing a single part or a complete production run.

Part of a Complete Digital Workflow

Post-processing systems form the final link in a chain that starts with 3D printing and the right materials. Because we supply and support the entire process, the transition between printing, cleaning, and post-curing is fully aligned.

Advice Based on Your Application

The best system depends on your material, industry, and production volume. We are happy to help you find the right combination of systems and settings. This ensures that your workflow meets the requirements your market places on the finished product.
