A thermoplastic is a plastic plastic material that softens when heated. Thermoplastic can be used in many different materials with various properties and is used for many application purposes.
Examples of thermoplastic materials are ABS, PET, PETG, PS, HIPS, PP, POLYCARBONATE, PVC. The thermoplastics can be used for plastic molds, products or parts. These thermoplastics can be processed by vacuum forming, sawing, cutting, milling, welding, cad / cam, polishing, drilling, bending, gluing, bending.
Thermplastic products are produced in various basic colors and many different thicknesses.
ABS – Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene
ABS is a plastic thermoplastic that is very high impact resistant. ABS material can be supplied in various thicknesses, colors and even with a glass layer as top. Material such as ABS can be used for vacuum forming, but can also be machined, such as, sawing, milling, punching, cutting or bending. The ABS plates are printable.
PS / HIPS – High Impact Polystyrene
Polystyrene or High Impact Polystyrene is an impact resistant plastic that is easier to use with vacuum forming than ABS. This impact-resistant plastic is available in a wide range of thicknesses and colors in a smooth and shiny lace finish. The HIPS is easy to machine with machines such as cutting, milling, bending, punching or sawing. The materials are ideal for vacuum forming from simple to complex molds and models.
PETG – Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol
PETG thermoplastic sheets are glass clear and available in various thicknesses. PETG materials are very easy to vacuum form with small and large machines for blister packaging, molds for the food industry, such as chocolate, to clear plastic products or filling. PETG materials can be machined just like ABS and HIPS, such as sawing, cutting, milling, punching, but also hot and cold bending.
PMMA – Polymethyl methacrylate
PMMA thermoplastic panels are transparent / glass clear and available in various thickness sizes. PMMA materials are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. PMMA guarantees a 10-year warranty against UV yellowing.
